Silviya Dabaghyan earned her Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Russian Presidential Academy in Saint Petersburg and her Master of Arts in Human Rights and Social Justice from the American University of Armenia in Yerevan.Her professional experience spans both journalism and human rights. During her journalism career, she interned at Novaya Gazeta and collaborated with Sobaka.ru, one of the largest media outlets in Saint Petersburg. She specialized in portrait interviews, investigative journalism, on-the-ground reporting, and analytical articles. Her event management experience ranges from student-led initiatives to coordinating major international forums, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2023, the Russia–Africa Summit 2023, and the Eastern Economic Forum 2023.
Transitioning into human rights, Silviya completed an internship at the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and took part in projects with the UN Office in Armenia and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute. Silviya currently works as a human rights lawyer at I.C.Law – Armenia.
Beyond her legal and journalistic work, she has also been deeply involved in social media marketing campaigns and has dedicated significant efforts to supporting the Armenian community in Saint Petersburg.
